How to use Bugxy

A short guide to recording a browser bug and giving developers the context they need.

Install extension

The basic loop

Record. Capture. Share.

01

Install the extension

Add Bugxy to Chrome and keep it available in the browser toolbar.

02

Connect Google Drive

Sign in to Bugxy, then connect Google Drive in Settings so recordings can upload to your Bugxy folder.

03

Record and share

Capture the issue, stop when it is clear, then send the generated report link.

While recording

Keep the controls close.

Use the floating controls to pause when you need a moment, resume when you are ready, or stop to finish the report.

Report contents

What Bugxy captures

Browser video

The current tab, screen, or window recording.

Console logs

Warnings and errors captured while reproducing the issue.

Network requests

Request method, URL, status, timing, headers, and data.

Interactions

Clicks, typing, navigation, viewport, and browser context.

After you stop

  1. The video uploads to your configured Google Drive folder.
  2. Bugxy saves the report metadata and captured context.
  3. A recording page opens so you can inspect and share it.

Your Drive boundary

Bugxy uses the limited drive.file permission. It can access recording files Bugxy creates, but it cannot browse unrelated files in your Drive.
